About
I am Kenny. This is The Pragmatic Patriot.
I write and speak about American politics from a simple premise: the country is worth defending, and it is also worth running competently. Those are not two different hobbies. A patriotism that cannot look at costs, tradeoffs, and results is just a costume.
Most political talk is theater. One side performs loyalty. The other performs virtue. Both get loud. Neither is required to be specific. I am not interested in that. I am interested in whether a policy works, what it costs, who it binds, and whether I would still say the same thing if the other party had done it.
What “pragmatic” means here
Judge ideas by outcomes and constraints — not by team, volume, or mood. If I cannot state the problem, the evidence, the tradeoff, and what I would do, I should not publish.
What “patriot” means here
The United States is a going concern. Free speech, equal law, secure borders, civic assimilation, and fiscal reality are operating conditions. Vigilance is not hatred. Refusing to name a threat is not kindness.
You will not get daily rage, merch patriotism, or prophecy dressed up as analysis.
You will get arguments meant to survive a skeptical reader.
I am early. The standard is not. If a piece only works on people who already agree with me, it does not belong on this site.
Pragmaticpatriot.com is the home for that work.
